Quite possibly the link between mass-produced yet trendy apparels and swanking celebrities on the red carpet, the result of the fast fashion giant’s infiltration of the exclusive Met Gala 2017 yesterday was indeed a momentous occasion for H&M.

This year’s Costume Institute exhibition Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between certainly served as a great inspiration for them – in the concocting of custom-made looks for well-known names such as Nicki Minaj, alongside rapper Future, models Ashley Graham, Jourdan Dunn and Stella Maxwell, as well as actress Sasha Lane and singer Joe Jonas.

With deconstruction, subverted tradition and asymmetry abound, the H&M design team has most definitely outdone themselves with the ensembles’ charm of bows, flowers and polka dots, ensuring that each and every single ensemble is memorable, as it is impeccably made.

“Partnering with H&M has been an incredible and unique experience. The look we have created is so special to me and I’m looking forward to sharing this moment with everyone. Together with the H&M design team, we embodied the theme; from the dramatic train to Kawakubo’s face. it’s truly inspiring!”
